Wi-Fi card or Ethernet card?

A PCIe card is the reliable way to add wireless to a desktop, because its external antennas sit outside the metal case where a small USB adapter cannot reach. Wi-Fi 6 cards such as the TP-Link Archer TX55E suit most homes; Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 models add the much less crowded 6GHz band if your router supports it, and all of them include Bluetooth for headsets and controllers. If your internet is faster than 1 Gbps, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet card is the cheaper upgrade. Check your motherboard has a free PCIe slot first.
